A brief, recent history of the Chargers and Los Angeles:
December 2014: The Chargers say they’ll play the 2015 season in San Diego.
February 2015: The Chargers and Raiders announce plans to build a privately financed stadium in Carson on the site of an old landfill.
March 2015: AEG abandons plans for Farmers Field in downtown L.A., once a potential destination for the Chargers.
April 2015: Carson’s City Council unanimously approves ballot initiative that allows the stadium to bypass lengthy environmental review.
The Chargers and Raiders unveil an overhauled stadium design that includes a 120-foot tower with a flame honoring late Raiders owner Al Davis.
May 2015: Former Browns and 49ers executive Carmen Policy is hired to lead the stadium effort.
August 2015: Street in front of the 168-acre Carson site is renamed Stadium Way.
